8 Best BDSM Dating Apps

These are the best BDSM dating apps in 2024. Note that these are exclusively dedicated to BDSM. So, instead of random kinks, these apps have a user-base that’s primarily into BDSM.

Obviously, anyone who’s into BDSM may also be into other Kinks, don’t you agree? Now, almost all of these apps allow free signups. Payments may be required but they’re mostly optional, depending on the features you seek.

For now, let’s just start with the list?

The 8 Best BDSM Dating Apps

These apps made it to this list primarily because they’re a BDSM-loving community, or for their established reputation.

Now, all of these are “mobile apps”. If you’d rather use websites, I’ve done a piece on the best BDSM dating sites as well.

Long story short? Go with Ashley Madison if you’re short on time. You won’t be disappointed.

1. Ashley Madison

Overall rating:  5/5

  • Highest user-base
  • Dedicated features for privacy and anonymity
  • Instant chat feature
  • 100% free for women
  • Masked app.
  • Advanced search filters.
  • Download from official website

This is the best of these BDSM dating apps, period. No other app on this list will give you 70, 000,000 users to choose from! That’s because Ashley Madison is the oldest app on the planet when it comes to dating (especially as a dating app for married men).

BDSM and Kinks aren’t something everyone likes to share publicly, right? On Ashley Madison, you can use multiple features to semi-hide your photos. Blurs, masks and a lot more is available.

You can even lock your photos so only selected individuals gain access. Tease them with something casual on the public album first maybe?

It has this amazing feature which you can search for exactly the body type that turns you on. Even height, age, location and other filters can be set.

If you’re a women, you don’t pay anything. This is why it’s also one of the best lesbian dating apps because it’s free for women!

If you’re a male, you’ll need to pay, however, its anonymity makes it the right app to pay for. What I mean is, your payment will be hidden on your credit card statement! Almost all BDSM apps require some form of payment but none offer this level of privacy.

The app, even on your phone, doesn’t say Ashley Madison! They really do love privacy, eh?

2. Kink

Overall rating: 4/5

  • Free signups
  • Free messages and profile-browsing
  • Acceptable user-base
  • Kink-oriented profile information
  • Location not GPS-locked
  • Paid plan starts: Approx. $10.00/month
  • Download for Android

The name says it all, doesn’t it? Well, yes, it is a Kink app. Signing up is completely free and open to all. Uploading a profile picture is mandatory.

On your primary dashboard, it features an infinity scroll. Meaning, you  can keep scrolling and new profiles will keep popping up.

The app is mostly free. You can not just browse profiles, but also send and receive messages (limited number/day) for free.

Basic profile info includes a name, location, and age. Tapping on profiles will reveal additional details, primary being the BDSM kinks he/she is into, their roles colour-highlighted, education, weight, and what they’re looking for.

Some profiles include photos, most don’t. I didn’t find an option for private photos or verified profiles though.

The search filters however aren’t impressive. There’s no kink-filter. You can only filter for gender, age-range and location. The fact that the app doesn’t lock you to your GPS-location is sure a win.

A paid plan does exist. It shows who liked you and offers unlimited messages.

3. Kink D: BDSM, Fetish Dating

Overall rating: 3/5

  • Free messaging (one new user everyday)
  • Free profile browsing
  • Top profiles based on followers/likes can be found easily
  • Acceptable search filters
  • Does show visitors for free.
  • Download for Android.

I get it, the name is almost identical to “Kink”. However, most BDSM dating apps seem to use similar names.

Anyway, it’s an acceptable app considering it does let you send messages for free. Technically, you can only initiate conversations with 1 new person everyday but you can continue it for free.

Anyway, you can browse profiles for free. I’ve found most profiles have a very long “self-summary”. The age, location too is displayed in addition to the “role”.  Ethnicity, drinking, smoking, height etc. too are displayed.

Its search filters are acceptable if not impressive. Apart from location, age,  gender, it even lets you search for users based on their “hobbies”.

It also has a KinkD star page.  These profiles are selected based on their number of followers. It’s a good place to start at if you’re trying to find legitimate accounts.

It shares a lot of visitor information, so you can see who visited you, who followed you and even where both you and the other user follow each other.

A social, public feed is available. The posts with most likes are displayed here. You can optionally choose to see new posts though.

4. Kinkoo

Overall rating: 3/5

  • Verified profiles
  • Swipe interface + infinity scroll
  • Kink-oriented profile information
  • Kink search filters
  • Download for Android

The reason I believe Kinkoo is one of the best BDSM apps is because of its emphasis on “verification”. It rewards verified profile with more visibility. Obviously, it’s not mandatory.

It does make finding legitimate profiles very easy as there’s a “verified” tab, showcasing these profiles. The problem? Only paid members get access to the tab.

Then, it too uses both the types of interfaces. You can either browse profiles normally, or, use its “like/skip” feature like Tinder.

It’s a great place to find BDSM partner because every profile very publicly lists the kinks they’re into. The kinks they’re seeking in their partners are listed separately as well.

Except the kinks, it does show the name, age, gender and location. I like the fact that Kinkoo doesn’t force users to write long “bios” and “about me” sections which no one will ever read.

It has a few gifts you can send using coins (requires real money). Free members can’t initiate conversations, however, they can reply to incoming messages.

You can check who visited you on the “visitor” tab though. It even has two leader boards, one is based on coins, the other on charm. Basically, helps you find trustworthy profiles.

Its search filters further make it one of the best BDSM apps, there’s actually a kink filter! You can select specific kinks and find users accordingly. Obviously, age and gender can be filtered as well.

5. FetLife: Kinky, BDSM Dating & Fetish Life

Overall rating: 3/5

  • Unique “surprise” feature
  • Impressive user-database
  • Free access to profiles (including photos)
  • Kink-oriented profile information
  • Messages require paid subscription.
  • Download for Android.

The tagline used by these apps tells us a lot, doesn’t it? Fetlife lets you signup and find BDSM partner for free. It does require that you upload a profile picture.

Even though it doesn’t have Kink-specific search filters, fortunately, it’s not GPS-locked. So yes, you can manually enter locations to search for profiles. Along with location, you can also search for age and gender.

But then again, profiles do include a kink feature. Every profile tells you what’s the BDSM role that the user likes.

It does have an impressive user-base. This is based on the fact that I found a few hundred profiles almost for all the locations I entered.

Other profile information includes education, smoking/drinking habits, income, interests etc.

You can browse profiles without paying, access to photos too is free. The only problem is messaging is only available to premium users. You can like profiles for free though.

It has this unique “surprise” feature. Members can post open notes/attach photos. These are shown to random users and may potentially lead to replies and matches. You can respond to surprise bottles sent by other users as well.

Does have a visitor feature, shows who visited you. Every profile picture is manually moderated and that’s pretty desirable, isn’t it

6. KinkR: BDSM & Fet Dating

Overall rating: 3/5

  • Swipe + Scroll interface
  • Free profile browsing
  • Messaging requires payment
  • No location-lock.
  • Download for Android.

I agree, KinkD, KinkR, Kink do sound very similar. However, I assure you all of these BDSM dating apps have very unique user-base as well as features.

KinkR too offers the dual-interface that I like. It lets me either use the Tinder-like interface to accept/reject profiles, or manually go through them. Using the Tinder-like interface does let you find “matches” easily though.

Anyway, profiles are pretty brief. There’s age, location, BDSM role and what the other person is seeking. Even though you can browse profiles for free, you can’t send messages without paying. Liking profiles is free.

You can also use the “wink”. It lets you send a few pre-written questions to the user, it lets them know you’re interested and may open a line of communication.

Its Kink-search filters are exactly what most of you seek, don’t you? Age, gender, location and the other basic filters are available as well.

Do note that you can search for users without a location lock. The GPS still can be used but it’s completely optional.

Two other filters you can use are “newest” and “nearby”. It shows you your matches, those who like you, and just profile visitors.

There’s a “moments” tab. This is basically a public feed, no idea how posts are selected  to be displayed on this feed.

The only thing that disappoints? There’s no verification feature!

7. Feter

Overall rating: 4/5

  • Free VIP accounts for photo verification
  • Kink-specific profile information
  • Tinder-like interface
  • Shows you viewed you
  • Download for Android.

Another BDSM meetup app that lets you find partners. Doesn’t have the manual profile browsing feature, uses the Tinder-like swipes instead. Uploading photos is mandatory to view other profiles.

For some reasons, all the profile pictures seem heavily downgraded on the quality. Tapping on profile shows a brief about me section, a section about the user’s “ideal partner”, interests, BDSM roles, orientation, drinking habits etc. Most profiles do include multiple photos.

Liking or rejecting profiles is free. You can’t send messages without being a paid member. The good news is, you can get a free VIP account by verifying your photo!

Does have dedicated tabs to show who viewed you, likes you, you liked or who matches with you.

I’ll be honest, it’s not the absolute best BDSM dating app, but is still acceptable.

8. KinkLife: BDSM Dating & Fetish

Overall rating: 3.5/5

  • Infinity scroll + Tinder-like swipes
  • Free profile browsing
  • Messaging requires payments
  • Optional profile verification available
  • Social feed available
  • Download for Android.

The name tells you up and front what the app is about, isn’t it? It too features the infinity scroll and lets you keep scrolling till you run out of battery (or the app runs out of users to show).

A Tinder-like feature does exist, it shows you the same profiles (as the infinity scroll page), however, here you can like/reject users. Mutual likes result in matches.

Profiles can be browsed for free. Each profile tells you the user’s role (during BDSM), physical features, what he/she is looking for, ethnicity, religion etc. There’s also an “about me” section, titled “Monologue” which I’m sure most of you don’t care about.

You can like people for free but sending them messages would need a premium plan. This obviously means an instant chat feature is available. It also lets users post their photos as a feed, this is public and isn’t just isolated for each profile.

While verification isn’t mandatory, it’s available. You can see who viewed you and who’s interested in you on your profile. Getting a premium plan also unlocks a few search filters.

Which are the best BDSM dating apps in 2024?

Ashley Madison is the best app + website for BDSM dating. It just offers the most number of users and the maximum privacy in the industry.

That doesn’t mean these other apps aren’t worth it. Kinkoo for one is a pretty impressive site for finding BDSM partners. Fetlife doesn’t disappoint either.

Anyway, the point is, except Ashley Madison, all of the other apps are almost at the same level, you can’t go wrong with either of these BDSM dating apps, period.
